Lets gather some Kai

This is a presentation I have made for social studies. I got to choose a topic about traditional Maori topics from a list and I chose food gathering. This was a really interesting topic an I enjoyed learning about it.
Next time I would add more pictures ( they didn't have many of photos on the internet).
I am proud of how I explained the subject.

Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, hearing with the ears of another and thinking with the brain of another.

 Body cues:

Body cues are body language which can help us to understand others and how they think. Eg smiling when you are happy.

In business we need to look at body cues to understand what others want and how to give them what you want.

Here is a slideshow about income for our buisness topic at school. In this slideshow we have identified different types of income and their advantages and disadvantages.
Next time we could add more information.

Passion project

For english we have been creating a passion project. We got to choose a subject to make a presentation about. I hope you enjoy reading about the houses in westeros. I think next time I could include facts about the characters.

who moved my cheese

In health class we watched a video about resilience. Warning, it is pretty cringy but it has a good message.

what did you learn about? How to show resilience in the face of problems and how to overcome obstacles. My favourite saying from the video is ' some times you need to search for new cheese'.It means you need to move on with your life and don't live in the past.

Was there anything difficult to understand? Why they chose cheese as a metaphor for resilience.

How did you relate to the video. I related because they are talking about how people can be trapped in the past.

How can you apply your knowledge to the business topic? This video has taught me to keep moving forward and that attitude will help me in the business topic.

When do i use resilience? I use resilience when i am doing school work because sometimes it gets difficult or i don't understand. I just have to get on with what i'm doing and do my best . Just keep going guys. I also show resilience when i do martial arts because i am not the best at it. I try and thats what matters in the end.

Socialism is based on how an individual contributes to the country and how much they receive back. The more hours you work the more share of valuables you get. Before workers get their share of wealth part of it is deducted for the common good, funding education, defence and helping those who cant support themselves (children, elderly ect).

Do I like the idea of socialism: I think it would be a great idea if it worked and people didn't use others to benefit themselves, sadly the world isn't free of selfish people who would use this form of government for their own wealth. The world is full of corrupt people who would use socialism for their own good. It is a great idea in theory but it wouldn't work well in real life.

The war of the roses

In term one I was given a book with many topics of research I could choose from. I chose to research the war of the roses, a war taken place in the 14th century in England. The war is what the song of fire and ice books were based on and I found this topic very interesting. I enjoyed researching this topic and look forward to my next project.

What am I learning: To research and use information to create a presentation.
