we are learning: how to use our bodies in a performance
how does this show my learning: I have written a paragraph about how actors use their bodies.
I am wondering:
This week in drama we have been learning about body and movement. our focus was how we use our bodies to convey emotion and how we move to match that emotion. An actor must use their bodies to portray a story. An actors performance mustn't rely on words, rather how they use their bodies to convey a story. The way someone holds them self shows us a lot about their character and the type of person they are.
This week in drama we have been also doing some fun exercises. We have been working on acting on the spot. We have been doing these fun exercises where you have a group, one person is taken out of the room and the others are told a situation. the lone actor is taken back into the room and the others act out the situation, leaving the lone actor. Look at the video above to see what I mean. This was really fun and I really enjoyed doing this exercise. Next time I would like to be the person taken out to test my acting skills.
Here me and Dylan have filmed a conversation about the themes of dragon heart.
What is my learning: I have been learning about understanding the themes of a text.
How this shows my learning: I have proven my understanding by having a conversation about the themes.
I am wondering: how the writers came up with these themes.
today in dte we are learning how to make logos, we are creating a logo to represent our family. My logo has the dreaver tartan, griffins and a rose. stay tuned for when it is finished.
This week we have been working on character charts for our film study. I have enjoyed working on these and hope they tell you more about the characters. I am learning about character choices and portrayal. This shows my learning because I have explained how characters react to challenges. Next time I could read all of the task before completing it. I almost forgot to do something. I am wondering how the writers came up with this story.

This week in drama we have been learning about voice and how to use accents. This has been fun and we played several games.
Voice is a huge part of acting. An actor can use their voice to portray tone, emotion and feelings. Actors can also change their voice to fit their character description. Actors can use accents to build a cultural background to their characters and give them more depth. An accent helps tell us where you are from and what your life could be like. Using your voice in acting is very important when it comes to emotion and depth in a characters story.
